According to tradition the two thieves crucified with Jesus are called Gesmas and Desmas,the `good thief` repented and this was Desmas and Jesus rewarded him with Heaven.

The Bible states that there were two other condemned men. One of them told Jesus (paraphrase) "If you're the Christ [the Messiah], save yourself and us." In other words, "prove it." This led the other man to rebuke the first, telling him that Jesus had "done nothing wrong", which was irrelevant to the issue at hand. A request for proof was made, and no proof was given. Instead, Jesus promised the second man that he would be with him in Heaven. Evidently, not much has changed.
