What ppl are talking about is the reset button found usually on the face of most stereos. If it's a detachable face or flip down face radio, the reset button will be behind the face. It's a small hole that you could use a straightened out paperclip or something comparable to put in and press the button, much like the reset button on a cd rom on a computer.
It's assumed that the unit is connected to power so "energizing" the unit wont be much of an assistance (not sure what was meant by "energizing").
If all else fails, you have two choices: you can shipped the unit to the manufacturer to be fixed or you can take it apart yourself. Taking it apart to remove a disk is not a hard thing to do. It takes patiences and time and some small tools (picks of various types and a #1 phillips screwdriver, maybe a #0 phillips too). The way the stuff comes apart varies slightly from brand to brand but the concept is similar.
I've done several, too many actually and it's nothing for me to do at this point. if you want me to do it, send an email to fosgate3@yahoo.com and we can get more information. Ill be glad to help.

This only works on some factory cd units. Push and hold the eject button for 5 seconds with the car started. This sometimes resets the CD system. Another option if that does not work is to disconnect the radio and then reconnect it back, this will reset the unit for sure. But before you do this, does the factory unit have an anti-theft system? If it does make sure you have the code for the unit before you remove it. If this does not work, replacing the unit will be cheaper than fixing it.

there should be a small imperfection on the carriage, just insert a long slender object, and hope its easy, otherwise, the owners manual should say. if not, you need to energize the carriage cause its fried, sorry.
