I'm 21 yrs old and already I've got really dark circles, a little puffiness, a some fine lines around my eyes! Unfortunately, most of the eye creams I've used are too harsh for my extra sensitive skin. My skin burns and gets irritated. Products I've used: l'oreal, avon, nivea, st. ive's and some expensive brand I forgot. I'd like it to have spf and affordable!

Do you have allergies? I've had really dark circles under my skin since I can remember and I'm now almost 39 years old. Hidden allergies are a strong contributer to dark circles. If you've had these circles for a while, then chances are they could be from allergies. Take antihistimines like Claritin daily for about a month and see if this helps(with your doctor's permission of course). Use a bleaching agent like Peter Thomas Roth AHA/Kojic Acid Under Eye Brightener and see if that helps. I use two very good concealers, Shu Uemura Pro Concealer available at ShuUemura.com and Dermablend quick fix concealer, found at most JcPenny's stores and online. These both effectively cover my dark circles, and believe me, my circles are dark! Before putting on the concealer, moisturize the eye area, it's very delicate and will dry out easily. The absolute best eye cream I've ever use(and I've used a LOT) is actually from a line of men's products. It's called Skin Strategies by men toning eye gel and it's manufactured by BeautiControl. I sell the stuff but I'm not trying to get your money for it, I just know it works. It's well worth the small price tag...it's only $12! BeautiControl also sells a great skin care set for sensitive skin. There should be a beautiControl rep in your area if you're interested. Ask her if she can sell you a mini set of the sensitive skin formula. I think it's only like 7 or 8 dollars, and it's a month supply so you can see if you like it before you buy the whole set. You can also clink on the link below and go to my own website, if you'd like. As to sunblock, the best I've found is Neutrogena UVA/UVB 45 sunblock works really well for me. Use it on your face, neck and hands every morning. I have for the last 5 years and I've yet to have wrinkles at 39.

Hope it helps...

Do you know what actually "causes" serious dark circles? I thought I did... but I was wrong. Like most people, I thought dark circles were caused by hard partying, working late, being tired or simple allergies. But according to most research dermatologists, serious dark circles (the kind that make you look old, tired and exhausted) are about, of all things, the oxidation of hemoglobin (blood) in the capillary matrix of the peri-orbital eye area. What a mouthful!

These capillaries actually "leak" blood that begins to oxidize (through a process called hemoglobin degradation)... creating a dark bluish-red pigmentation that looks distinctly like an ugly bruise.

What does all that mean in plain English? Tiny little capillaries deposit blood around your sensitive eye area. The blood turns deep purple and you end up looking like you just went 12 hard rounds in a boxing ring.
Not an Ordinary Eye Cream... A Dark Circle Breakthrough
Because serious dark circles are so difficult to address (just take a look in the mirror after lunch... ouch! So much for cakey concealers) it's not surprising that the hottest new "must-have" compound to shake up the "cosmeceutical" market is something called Hylexin®. Why? Because it's the first formula specifically developed to dramatically reduce the appearance of serious dark circles

First, are you massaging your eyes area too hard? If it is, does it make your eyes watery? I had this experience that when I massage cream around my eyes area, it will be tired and watery, eg : tears coming out from my eyes. It's a normal reaction when your eyes are too tired I guess. And could this cause your eyes to be swollen the next day like you said as though you've cried last night? Next, try not to put too much cream on it. Lightly dap with ur ring finger and see if it happens again. If it does, possibility is, you're allergic to it. Should try to switch to eye gel instead.
