It is a rip-off.
The cheapest way I found was to take a BTS train to the last station that is next to Chao Phraya. Exit the station towards the river and there's a booth selling tickets for a river baot company. The last time it cost 100 baht for a ticket which allows you to get off and on at any of the stops - price may hace gone up. They throw in a free bottle of water as well. A cheap and eay way to enjoy the river sights and when you get bored get off at a stop wander around then get back to the river and move on to another stop.

Unless it is some sort of 5 star luxury boat it is way too much. Just catch the public ferry up and down the river. There is loads of atmosphere, you are with locals instead of tourists and it costs less then 20 baht.

YES probably if you are going on like a buffet cruise then 1000 might be legitimate but if its just a transportation boat dont pay more then 250 tops but start lower and negotiate and dont be suprised when they start at 600 baht still insist 200
good luck

It depends on what sort of service your expecting. If you a backpacker on a budget then yes it probably is, but if your a tourist with a large budget then it probably is ok. 1,00 baht is about £14.
My experience in Thailand as a budget backpacker, I would not have paid that much for an hour.

if you convert 1,000 baht to us dollars, it's about $25 for the trip--about the same price for a mediocre boat trip around SF bay. it's not too bad. remember to convert currency!

you are better to get the river bus that the locals use ,it goes from one end of the river to the other and you can get on and off when you like for a few baht.

its far too much (about 23 Euros), certainly a tourist trap!
if you take the speedboats for locals, it cost you nearly nothing and you can hop on; try it, its fun, you dont need to speak Thai
