My bloke has a massive puss filled spot in his ear. Yesterday he made me burst it with a needle (I didnt think it was a good idea) and some disgusting yellow stuff came out. It's still there tho. Does he need antibiotics for it? He's not one for going to the doctors.

it is possibly just a normal spot, just keep it clean and keep an eye on it if it looks like it is getting infected or does not appear to be healing then you could ask your local pharmacist for advice first before contacting your gp. by the way if the yellow liquid that came out of the spot smelt like strong cheese then it is an abcess and yes he will need antibiotics.

No experience as I'm a women - but if it is a boil or abscess, try to drain as much stuff out as you can and then put on an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin. Try taking a hot shower daily just before treating the boil. Don't put so much pressure on it that you bruise yourself. Most communities have a free clinic. Check the yellow pages under clinics or medical clinics. You need to know in case you need medical help another time.

you must go to the doctor as infection can spread very easily and it will be very dangerous.IT WAS VERY SILLY TO MAKE IT BUST AS YOU HAVE SPREAD THE INFECTION.Doctor WILL GIVE YOU ANTIBIOTIC and ear drops.AFTER THIS USE
garlic capsules to treat the infection as garlic is antibiotic and put some warm but not hot drops of garlic oil from the capsules on a warm sppoon and put in the ear 2-3 drops.Make sure it is not hot just take the chill away.

Pus indicates infection. Obviously a body will be trying to clean itself, but if there is a "large" area of infection it is probably separated to some extent from the bodies healing circulation. You can increase circulation to the area by applying hot compresses, (three minutes hot alternating with 30 seconds of cold). And try to keep the area clean with some weak peroxide solution, or iodine solution.

Its nearly impossive to MAKE a man go to docs but s'ok, cuz clever women can sav the day!!! Just keep it clean for him. Warm preboiled salt water about once an hour, keep an eye on it. Slap his hand (really really hard!) if he touches. next time sterilise needle with flame. Musta hurt like a Btch!!! Poor guy

if hes up for it try and sqeeze all the puss out especially the core which will be a hard lump of puss then clean it and dab a blob of pure soap on it. this will dry it out. also tell him not to put any aftershave near it as this will make it get infected. good luck

Get some antiseptic ointment from the chemist like savlon. and use a cotton but to apply it it should go away it probably an infected pore it should go away in a couple of days, just keep it really clean.

oh man I love spots! usually once the goo comes out the spot will dry up. Make sure it's kept clean, if it doesn't go he should consider the doctors (hope the needle was clean too..)
