Don't be mistaken, horrible things such as you have mentioned are all part of God's plan to test us and make us better people.
So if you are caught up in an earthquake, plague, or have contracted some hideous disease, take comfort in the fact that it is God's way of testing you. He is a nice kind God and he only tests people who really need it, like children in Africa, or fishing villages in Thailand.
The reason he DOESN'T test some people is that they don't need it so He leaves them alone.
Often these people live in big houses and have lots of food and good doctors, but they deserve it, otherwise God would take it away,
Some callous, unthinking people try to apply a notion of justice to these arbitrary God-like decisions, saying 'If God exists why does he allow these things'
Ha! they don't understand how clever God is, and they will be punished.
Ask the Pope. he'll tell you.

Guess I am going to go out on a limb here. Life in general can really suck bad things happen. Good, and bad, things happen do to what I would believe is a grand design. This grand design is what most think is “the plan of God”. Now I’m not a person that runs around wishing every one a “Blessed Day!” but I do believe in God. What I and a lot of believers try to do is see the good things in life, the positives that keep us going. Every one gets **** on, but how do you know that the **** you take on one day is not setting up a situation for some one else to have a good day. All in all try to be positive and see the light side, and if you get **** on you may have deserved it or you may be taking it for another person. There can not be good without bad, good without evil; there can not be one without the other.

Evil things do exist of course|
But what we have to know about evil is that it does not have positive being|
It is only the *absence* of being or goodness where it it due|
It is similar to the principle that cold is not a thing in itself, but is merely the absence of heat|
Now if evil is a mere privation, God is not the cause it because it is a "nothing" or a black hole where there ought to be being|
That is why the *good,* the *true,* and the *beautiful* in creation are evidence of God who is *infinite* goodness, truth, and beauty|
Goodness, truth, and beauty (along with unity) are *transcendental properties of being* - that is, they are simply other names for being - since anything evil, false, ugly, or fragmented is simply a situation where being is lacking where it should be present|

That's funny because I do mention the bad with the good. I think earthquakes and other natural disasters are Mother Earth's way of saying She is getting sick and tired of us silly talking monkeys screwing up and taking advantage of what She has given us. If we don't start taking better care of Her and stop abusing Her then She is really going to do something about us.
Blessed Be )O(

Usually its because they are trying to come to terms with a nice loving God. So they have to spend the time ignoring the bad, in an attempt to better their perceptions of God. Alot of them are aware that that is what they are doing. At the expense of reality. Its the whole "Dont look at the negative, only focus on the positive" type thing. Carrot before the donkey

Who said they dont mention bad things there is always good and bad.God has shown us the way that if we do good we will get good if we disobey him we will get punished. Its like same like a kid in school when he do good he gets good result if he convicted of bad manners he gets punishment that does'nt mean school is a bad place. Also if u work for a company there is always a code of conduct If u do more then good u get insentives but if u do bad u could be terminated So I think now ur mind will become clear...

Because not many people will believe if you tell them reality, like your prayers will rarely be answered and you probably won't be healed, and you will always have a low paying job that sucks. But if you say, Your prayers will be answered, God will heal your illnesses, and you will never lack financially, you'll get a lot of converts, even though those things aren't necessairly true.

they point out the good because God is good. He only created good things in love.
Satan became evil, thus the creator of bad things.
the bible says god allows evil so we can see what Satan is all about. at the time of the end Satan will be destroyed and evil/bad with him.

have you ever heard anyone saying "the half good God" or "partly good God" ? God is all good and that is why only good things things are pionted out. someone is very ill, would you rather God takes them away from thier misery through death or heals them only to have that person maybe in future find they can't have children because of that illness and wishes they would rather have died. and have you ever heard the devil being associated with good deeds? why do you critisise what God does but leave out the devil?? i can't answer why they never mention diseases, and all those other things.... but ask yourself why you want to question God's ways..
