I wonder if the new weapon to aid US troops can be classed as WMD, and the US Nation be invaded searching for WMD?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/6295567.stm

Why haven't US been invaded on such an excuse?

I doubt if there would be the same "non result" of such action as happened in Iraq !!

..and before you ask or spout off, I have read the article, which raised the obvious question in my mind - why hasn't US been invaded to look for WMD?.. have a taste of your own medicine..

It begs the next question who would you call on then for help?

With the mentality of watching Big Brother,I can now understand the low IQ. (unquote)

This so called Celebrity BB has given us a unique insight into the differences between our 2 Nations... and it is so true that USA and UK are two Nations divided by a single language !

You must be a budding politician to spin the question around from a new US idea to HELP our troops to one as facile as Celebrity BB.. ho-hum ! So you see, I DID read the article !!

What was it you said about "low IQ"...?
Hmmmm enuf said !

In all the baloney about Weapons of Mass Destruction, no one has ever defined at what point destruction goes from ordinary to mass.

Is a child wearing explosives who walks into a crowded church, a WMD? Does it have to be able to kill 40 + people or 4,000 +?

In Korea, when the North Koreans and Chinese were racing down hills and coming at us in droves of hundreds every fifty feet, one machine gun firing into that mob could have been classed a WMD by the number that were being killed.

When Saddam was gassing the Kurds and his own people, was he using WMD?

Were the two aircraft that rammed into the New York towers WMD, they killed enough people and destroyed enough buildings to be so classified.

Before we run away with this thing, let's first define it so everyone talks in the same language. Let's try to be specific about what is going on.

Well, wouldn't a weapons have to have destructive power to be considered a wmd ? is slipping destructive ?

Why hasn't the US been invaded ? Because no other country has the means to actually invade, they do not have the logistics capability to do so.

Britian had to use a ocean liner during the falklands war to move troops and the british navy is now only 1/3rd the size it was then.

Invasions require a Navy, no one else has a large navy anymore.

The perks of being the world's only mega nuclear superpower is that, whatever other weapons we design and build, they all pale in comparison to destroying the face of the entire earth.

Whether the American public believes that the US government would deploy such weapons is immaterial, the bulk of the world knows that we would. Thus no invasion worries.

Did you even read your own article?

It is a substance applied on tyres that can enable military vehicles to have better traction and control on off road conditions.

I don't see this as a WMD.

I don't read the BBC. I read web sites like this which describe REAL WMD's:

Sir, our medicine is freedom. If you don't understand the difference between the nations we've freed and the horrors of Muslim oppression, it's no wonder you're also not smart enough to read your article critically.

You have now stated publicly that you believe slipping on ice is comparable to ricin, anthrax, and nuclear weapons!
