It could just be a cyst. What kind of dog is it? But there are other things that it could be. Like a tumor or cancer. My mom had a boxer who was 8yrs and there was a large bump on his back and it popped and it looked like a cyst but it turned out to be cancer, it spread so fast that he developed liver cancer. It was not a good out come :( but talk to you vet about it and see what they think. If it is cancer maybe they can catch it early enough to save him. But lets just hope it is a cyst. Good luck and Best wishes to your dog.

YOU HAVENT TAKEN HIM TO THE VET YET??!!

it could be a cyst, could possible be a mild tumor, could just have been a build up of blood.

keep an eye on it, and check to see if the swelling goes down on it or not. otherwise, i would take him in to your local vet to see what it was as cases like that sometimes can be dangerous.

just to be on the safe side, keep the wound clean, you dont want it to get infected.

Take the dang dog to the vet. That should go without saying.

A year ago? You've not had it checked by a vet? Take the poor dog to a vet.
