I'm definitely sure my cat hasn't gone outside. I had him for three weeks, he vanished within the house. I looked everywhere.

Start looking under and behind EVERYTHING. Also, be sure to check the back corners of closets. Mine used to like to hide behind the refrigerator or stove. These were warm places in a strange environment. Put food out and see if it starts disappearing. If not, then if you aren't smelling something dead in your house, the cat got out when you weren't looking.

Make sure you checked EVERYWHERE! I once had a kitten (6 months old) and her Mother disappear...my neice had put them in a drawer of an old solid desk. My husband and his brother were making trips to the dump, so the door was open a lot. I won't tell you how long they were there, a LONG TIME, but they were still alive when I found them...I put up signs everywhere, thought I had looked everywhere, even offered a $500 Reward. One day I heard a faint "Meow", ran into the room, only to find both of them together in the drawer (which I thought was full pf papers). Almost $5,000 in vet bills later, I lost the kitten (lack of body fat) but still have Mum. I have no idea why they didn't scratch or meow, my other animals didn't make a fuss. I was within 10 feet of that desk everyday (in the same room as the cat litter which I cleaned daily). A couple of months later my male jumped into the linen closet. He screamed at the top of his lungs, the other cats were intent on scratching their way in, within 2 minutes I knew where he was but he had defecated on EVERYTHING in the closet. You tell me that they didn't know where my other two cats were...I thought I had looked everywhere but obviously not! Check drawers, inside your piano, the dryer, dryer vent, places where your cat could be stuck and unable to get out of...does he have a collar? If so is it the "breakaway" kind? (If caught the collar will snap open if any force is put on it). We once had a Siamese that climbed up inside the walls...you could hear her walk across the ceiling and in the spaces in between. She'd come out for food when nobody was around other than that she hid. Please in memory of Sadie, keep looking! Good luck.

Your cat is probably hiding somewhere you least expect. I lost my cat once - after searching the streets for hours, i found her asleep in my wardrobe! How she got in there I dont know - the door was shut!

Check absolutely EVERYWHERE for your cat - in every nook and cranny in the house. Put food down, and rattle the bowl. He should come out when he is hungry - If mine are anything to go by that shouldnt be long

Hope you find him and he is safe and well.

How long has your cat been missing? Plus this is a normal behavior for cats in a new home. Just leave him be and make sure he is not out side. It does take a while for a cat to get use to new things. I just recently had the same problem. He will come out when he is ready. Good luck and happy cat hunting.

If your cat does not come out to eat, drink, or use the litter then it may be sick, hurt, or stuck in a vent somewhere. It could have also gotten outside without you realizing it. You need to find your cat ASAP.

If I'm missing a cat, I open a can of tuna. It's amazing how that makes missing cats appear.

Have you looked in the shed, underneath the bed, behind the fridge,w.machine,d,washer, in cupboards, couch, plumbing, wardrobes, airing cupboard,is he shut in the shed/garage ,also try next door ,leave his food and water out in the same place and the same time everyday to establish a routine, as he may / will come out when you are not there, leave toys out near his bed , especially ones with bells rattles etc this will capture his curiosity.Use a light tone in your voice when you call him ,do not let him sense your anxiety as this will only serve to make him more nervous than he already is. Good luck !Try cooking him some chicken leaving the kitchen door open, this could bring him running to you!

cats have the funny habit of getting into nearly every nook and crannie...they love boxes and gaps between furniture. Call him and put food out. He may have got stuck somewhere, mine got stuck in a Xmas tree box for a couple of days. He should appear soon!

Cat cannot 'vanish' in the house. Do you live in a castle and have that many rooms? Look everywhere. Closets, walking closets, under the bed, sofa, in every tiny small. It's not about for how long can stay without food. He might be stuck somewhere and in pain, and you should help him!
