God is with a capital G. God is in all religions "One". In Christianity, there is such thing as the Trinity which is Three in One. The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

NOTE: Muslim does not have "thousands" of gods. They have 99 names for the One True God which all other monotheistic God-related religions worship.

It depends on your personal definition of who or what 'God' is in a religiou aspect. For me being Wiccan, I do not believe in the 'One' God like most other people do, but know that everything on this planet has a piece of the soul of the Mother Goddess (Or God if you prefer), from a tree and blade or grass down to the seemingly insignificant speck of sand or grain of dift you walk on each day.

Hi,
GOD is one with several names, God is called "SARVA ANTARYAMI", it means He is everywhere, Whether its water, air, land, fire, sky, He is within you, which many of us don't know. This is the reason why He is called Hari Sarvothama, again it means He is Supreme, nobody in this world or Demi-Gods can Act like Him, He Creates, He Protects & He Destroyes, for this i would like to give you an simple example: As you know very well that kids like to play in sand, making small houses, playing for hours together & when they feel that they are extreme happy / extacy, they simply destroy the houses & get back to home happily, like way is Our Own GOD. He never feels bad for destructions. He just creates everyone & accordingly makes them to work & provides happiness & sadness respectively. So its on our part that, whatever be the situation, do not forget the our LORD, He is behind you to safeguard you, provide you success in studies or job etc. So my dear friend GOD is one & rest others are created by Himself. So be free from Tensions that are creating problems to you. One thing you need to remember is " Hari Sarvothama, Vayu Jeevothama" , this chant itself is Success in your entire life. Take Care.

Your very question says only one. If many you would have stated as Gods and not God.If there are more than one the question arises who is greater? Naturally no one can be greater than God. That is why he is called God.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.
