If it is a burned cd, some players wont read them. Try using a more recent cd player.

is it a computer cd player, or just a regular portable cd player? if its a portable, it could be that the cd is dirty, and causing the cd player to be unable to read the cd. otherwise, it could be that the cd player is older, and having some trouble reading some of the newer disks.
try checking the inside of the cd player itself. it could also be that it is dirty and needs to be cleaned, or have the dust blown out or something.
i have a cd player on a portable radio i have, and it does the same thing to me. sometimes, i simply just have to hold the cover to the cd player down a little bit in order to make the spinner under the disk start to spin in order for the laser to read the disk, and then hit play....
hope this helps you out.

ok fine i understood ur problem and hope my solution solves ur problem.
when a cd 's format is not supported by the driver it shows the nodisk error.
or
the lens of ur optical cd drive may be damaged or covered by some dust. so use a dust cleaner cd to remove dust on the sensor.
or
might be the stepper motor in the drive gets damaged or the belt which links the spindle is jumped so that ur cd is unable to rotate.
these may be the problems i expected from ur question.
if the above dont solves u better to go for a new one and dont again keep scratched cd's or dirty or cheap quality cds so that u can maintain ur drive safe.
bye yours praveen

Your CD player might not read the type of CD you are using. Or the CD is too dirty and/or scratched. Or try cleaning the CD player lens with CD drive cleaner.

are you sure what you inserted is a CD? It may even be a DVD and CD-players cannot read DVD's
