How do you study 'enough' general knowledge?

How much general knowledge do you need to know? Some information on this topic and general knowledge will do.

The more you know and learn the more you realize how much more there is out there to know and learn. So you should basically learn as much as a you can because there is more out there to know than you realize. Makes you a better person, makes society a better place. Or the alternative is to not know much at all and be happy in your own little selfish world, i.e. ignorance is bliss.
