Sri Lanka is a very beautiful island nation just south of India tip. Actually it looks like a tear drop falling off from India. Sri Lanka is a very beautiful, verdant, and tropical island where you have wonderful beaches, people are good, food is absolutely delicious and it will be a very very good picnic destination if you ever want to go there. But there is some problem in the north of the Island due to the problems between the ethnic tamil speaking people who want a separate country. anyway if you are planning on going there, it is advisable that you stick to the southern part of Srilanka. (The capital of Srilanka is Colombo)... If you want to know anything more... just ask..

yes, it a gem of a island, just south of India. The language spoken is sinhalese. The people are friendly and helpful, but poor.The capital city is Colombo, which has an international airport. They are good hotels in colombo, and a variety of food is available. Sea food is plentyful. cost of living is low. Many people speak/ understand english.
