I wish I could hug you right now and tell you so many of us have felt exactly the way you do! I suffered from depression at your age and my grades were not the best but with the help of a great therapist and some soul searching I finally moved through the depression. I believe you need someone to talk to and because you sound so bright and are rather motivated( even for a depressed person) Maybe your depression has to do with a change in your life. You are a senior and are at the end of a part of your life. Many people are scared(and rightly so since any change even change that is for the better can be scarey) Maybe you won't allow yourself to be scared so it is turning into depression. When we do not honor our true feelings we tend to get depressed. Remember everyone in your grade is feeling a lot of what you are. Maybe you could even talk to some friends about it. If not as I said seeing a therapist is something that you can do for yourself that will help you so much. They are there strictly for you and have no agenda. Good luck! From what you have written I think your going to do just fine! Now you need to believe it.

Crab? Not too cuddly, is it?
It's a well-documented phenomenon that interactions with animals improves blood pressure, reduces stress and helps with depression. When I worked as a psychiatric nurse we used to have pet therapy sessions for the more seriously ill patients; you'd be amazed how some of them came out of themselves for a while when a dog was nearby. The hospital I work for now allows pets from home to visit patients, and it speeds their recovery. The nursing home section of the same hospital also has regular pet visits. I know when I am feeling a little down my cats all seem to know it and gather around me. All that warmth and purring is better than any drug.
Professional therapists and psychiatrists are indeed recommending pet therapy more and more to their patients. It's a good thing.

Pets definitely help with depression and stress. I remember how comforting it was to play with my cats, or just let them sit on my lap, when I was depressed or worried about things happening at school.
I would be a much happier person if I could have pets right now, but I rent so it's not really possible.

yes they say that can be one of the best things you can do, tht they fill a spot that needs to be filled and they are always with you, and they always are there for you,, and they don't leave you, they are there for you when you are blue, and they know it, and they actully try to help you. So yes it is good to have pets, even doctors suggest you to get a pet, cause they will help you alot.

yep it works for me. I guess pets don't judge you and you can tell them stuff and they keep your secrets. i guess it's therapeutic touch...premature babies get massages and stuff and it helps them grow so it makes sense that touching another living creature can help heal your wounds.
In the kids hospital they have a pet program where dogs come into the hospital so the kids can play with them. It makes the kids so happy and it helps them to get better quickly.
When my gran was really sick i was too upset to talk so i just sat with my dog and cried. he just licked my tears but he didn't ask any questions. that made me feel OK again.

That's cool. I never thought about that but there is a stray kitten that keeps hanging around my house and he just walks up to me everytime he sees me and rubs against my legs and "meows".
Honestly, I don't like for him (or her) to get near me too much because I don't know where he's been (or she), but I do find myself playing with him from time to time. And it's fun.
Thanks for enlightening me. I may stop and get him a flea collar...
just in case we become friends.

yeah, the only reason I'm alive are because of my pets... for more than one reason. They are really soothing, and they don't judge either.
