For me it always helps to remember things that I was really upset about years ago and can hardly even remember now. I try to take my current problems and imagine how significant they will seem to me in about five years' time. Usually, after doing that, I realize that I am giving them WAY too much power over my present mood.

Stop letting it occupy your mind. Leave it in the past and focus on the present and the future. Focus on something else, something more constructive than what you need to get over.

Exercise helps. Get plenty of "B" vitamins (needed for stress) if you don't sleep well, melatonin might help. Get more active in the community-- certainly there are things that need to be done that you could help with.
