Hi, thanks for reading.

My new pup is agressive during play. Sometimes when I tell her to stop, she does but then she growls. Is she trying to dominate me? Is she going to turn out to be a big agressive dog? What could I do to test what she is thinking? I need to know whether she just plays rough or if she is trying to take over , so I can nip any dominance or aggressiveness in the bud before she gets too big.

I play crazy tug games with my pup, and she growls and tugs with me like a nutjob. We both have a lot of fun, and she has a great "Give" (I taught that first). I play with her every day and though she growls and shakes the toy hard, she's never gone for my hand, or acted protective of the toy. She's never guarded a chewie/bone from me, either. I can understand why you wouldn't want to experiment to see whether she'd go after you! Why don't you ask someone to watch you guys play - a trainer could meet you at your home, or in a park, and then give you an assessment.

She is aggressive. Hope that you can get answers on this site, if not, it is a must that she go to obedience training. Her breed does have an awful lot to do with her personality and her actions. Honestly, the breed the dog has a lot to do with her/his life experiences.
