There are several ways of doing this. ONe is to buy a macro (Nikon calls it Micro) lens. Another is to keep the 50mm that you have on your camera and buy a used bellows unit. The bellows will allow your standard 50mm to get as close as 4 inches or so to photograph the item.

Another is to buy a reversing ring for your lens which will allow you to turn your lens backwards on the camera.

Another, still with the lense that you have, you can use extention tubes, my camera has three different sizes that can be connected together in any way. These, like the bellows, place your objective lens further away from the film plane.

And then there are a plethora of after market lenses that you can buy for the camera that have macro features on them - all will be zooms. A 70-200 mm Vivitar does a good macro and should not cost you more than about 50-60 bucks.

It appears like via "macro" you propose "p.c. up" photos. So your questions are, a million) are you able to take p.c. up photos mutually with your lens? and a pair of) in case you do, will they be much less solid because you haven't any longer have been given a macro lens? a million) that's elementary to respond to. leaf by your lens and concentration on an merchandise. Then circulate closer to it and concentration back. once you're as close as you will get and nevertheless be waiting to concentration, that's as close as you will get. If, gazing how close you will get, you call that a "p.c. up" image, then the respond is sure. in case you think of it extremely is nevertheless too a techniques away, then the respond is not any. 2) the photos you're taking is not any much less solid because you haven't any longer have been given a macro lens. the excellent factor approximately a macro lens is that, although close you have become, a macro lens gets you closer.

First tip is to get a macro lens. I use the Nikon 60 mm f/2.8 macro lens and it's great. It goes all the way to a true 1:1 reproduction. Once you have the right lens ($400...), it is easy to figure out the rest.
