Do I have to fill out a claim from them? They are 8 & 10 years old. This is the only money they earned. I am also named the as the one who is responsible for making sure this money is used for their care and needs. Do I report it or does my husband or do my child have to file?

SSI is NOT taxable income. You need not claim it anywhere on any federal or state tax returns. If all someone received was SSI, they need not file any tax returns.

OASDI is a different story.

Are they actually getting SSI, or social security. They are different things. SSI doesn't get reported at all, social security does and could be partially taxable.
