I agree. I was raised polytheist. So the whole concept of there only being one deity in the entire universe is a foreign concept to me. No matter how many times I hear it, I simply can't comprehend it. I believe that there are many deities, known and unknown.

There is only ONE " Almighty God".
This is the one who dealt with Abraham. Exodus 6;3
(Psalm 19:1) The heavens are declaring the glory of God; And of the work of his hands the expanse is telling.
(Psalm 104:24) How many your works are, O Jehovah! All of them in wisdom you have made. The earth is full of your productions.
But there are 'other ' gods.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.
(Isaiah 65:11) “But YOU men are those leaving Jehovah, those forgetting my holy mountain, those setting in order a table for the god of Good Luck and those filling up mixed wine for the god of Destiny.

1) How many CEOs run a company??? many?
2) How many principals run a school??? Many?
3) How many Presidents run a country??? Many?
Can we have at least 2 for the above posts??? Will that organiztion, school, college, country survive??? What will happen when there will be a difference of opinions???
When this cant take place for 2 people, you think 3,4,5 or 100 will survive??
Now what about GOD??? Many running this universe and NO conflict???
GOD is ONE... Without a second.
Holy Quran:
"GOD is ONE"
The Vedas:
"Ikkum eva dittiyam"
GOD is ONE
The Bible:
GOD is ONE...
But the followers practice the otherwise.

If there had been more than 1 God, there would be chaos & disorder in the universe.
What would happen if there is 5 majors in a city, 6 presidents in a country?
God is only one and He is Allah

my dear friend, you don't have to believe in anything if you don't wish to, and don't fall into peer's pressure that make you 'have to', and just because the book 'say so', all these are blind faith.
Go out that to do research, thorough analyse so you can get a in depth understanding for which ever answer you desire for.
Good luck

I've got a better question, why can't you accept that there isn't a god at all?

Give it time and no one has to do what they don't want to do.
Being forced to do it is the same as not believing in it.
