If your dog keeps digging in the same spot, try putting your dogs poop in the holes. That kept my Labrador from digging to get out under the fence. Fortunately, it also helped her quit digging all together.

Your dog is bored. I suggest getting your Boxer some new toys to play with. Dogs love rawhide bones to chew on (but be careful because they can be chewed down small enough for the dog to swallow and choke on them. Throw them away when they get too small). I also suggest spending some time walking or playing with your dog.anything to keep its interest and use up some energy. Also, maybe he is trying to get something? Is there a furry critter that has made its home in your yard? If he is trying to dig under a fence, is there something on the other side that he is trying to get? I suspect he is just bored so he needs something to keep his attention (i.e. toys). -

it's my experience dogs dig from bordom. are you outside with the puppy? a puppy can get bored very easily. stay outside when you pup is out, and when the pup starts to dig, say no. and redirect the pup to another activity. are you exercising the pup enough. take the pup on at least two walks daily. a tired puppy will rest and not dig.

You will get many suggestions for this...try them all. All dogs are differant. I sprayed citronilla around the whole border of my yard where my dog was digging...he started drinking it as it came out the bottle. I ended up filling the holes with his poop then covering them over. He must have thought every hole had his poop it, and stopped digging

shop some clean plastic bottles (ideally the 2litre Coke bottle) full of water close to the areas the place the puppies dig up the backyard. do no longer inquire from me why, in spite of the undeniable fact that it worked with my pup.

They usually do that 'cause they are Bord. There might be an animal underground they are trying to get at also.
Good luck seeings how it is natural for a dog to dig.

When my dog was young, she used to do that. When she was in the back yard, we'd watch her and if she started doing it, we'd shake a coffee with a few coins in it. The noise was loud, and she'd get scared, but after doing that only about 10 times, she learned.

Don't hit him
And only if you catch him doing it & often catching him doing it scold him!!!!
& let him know you are not happy!!!!.
Plus he is bored why he is doing it
give him safe toys to play with &
have your scent where he sleeps ( old clothing of yours ) & a ticking clock or soft music
especially if he is lonely but
don't let him get lonely
& you wont have a problem
