very sad indeed...you need to be straight forward with her, and let her know that the man was very cruel, and he is dead. She needs to come down to reality..she is saying this for attention...you must let her know that there is someone waiting for her around the bend, and that she must forget about someone like jim jones, and she probably doesn't mean it any way...but just the same, do the research, and then present your case...

Look, seriously, I'm 61 and I KNOW when this event [series of events] took place: i.e. she is NOT [no longer] a girl. She is a grown woman now.
This is not normal. She needs counseling. She can keep whatever she thinks is her belief, but tell her: ONLY GOD KNOWS THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT HIS DOCTRINES AND ALL HIS PLANS. Say, "JUST TRUST GOD" Now a counselor can't change God, honey, but one CAN help YOU get your life back together like God wants for you." Just try it, You'll be safe, because you trust God. You can even join a grievance group, but this is tearing you up, so let's get you some help."
