You could try "HJSplit", - just google it.

That might help?

real media files are a pain to work with and my advice would be to convert them to avi format first
I know of a utility called rmeditor but this has no fancy front end so you have to use it from the command line, so by all means hunt around for it if you are an experienced pc user

otherwise download super (free)
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm

use it to convert the real video file to avi; then use a free tool called
avi split classic to split the files as you require
http://bobyte.com/AviSplit/index.asp

video isn't my thing so hopefully some bullethead will come up with better advice....good luck.

If your video is an mpeg then mpegstreamclip can split video and convert to most other formats though not real player as it's a proprietory format.Mpeg streamclip is free and available for Windows and Mac. AVS for windows can convert real video to other formats but is not a free programme.

You can use vcdcutter software, where it can split or separate audio or video files in to any format.
