First Edinburgh service 11/11A will take you from Stirling to Aberfoyle, but be warned it only runs 3 or 4 times a day. After that it is either down to the postbus, a taxi or walking it my friend. good Luck. First Edinburgh have a website, so try there for more information. Don`t phone the garage at Balfron as it is an outstation of Bannockburn and is staffed only during normal office hours. In all the years i have travelled to Balfron to take photos of their buses, I have still to find a timetable in the town and that includes the library, very poor.

Unfortunately, the train service to Aberfoyle ceased as long ago as 1951. There is a bus service from Stirling to Aberfoyle, although it appears to require changes. Look at http://searchportal.information.com/?epl=01790037VFAXVE0DWlgVVRBeVwMAFQVbC1YKW1kADFAITEpVRwBZXQxdShZQWxVcAw1cSwVcDBIHaApRClNSBAYeU0NuF1RaCQULQ0BRAEIBC2cVCUBcRAlHFllWEz5YVFFWa10EW1ALVl5DR1ESRD0RVhALDlUMSA9SE0QEAEdWUGdASBVQCQ5RVw4&query=Travel%20By%20Bus

and click on bus services. You will then have to enter details of your journey and it will come up with a timetable.
