How can I do this, I have checked their website, but I don't see an option to book or pay for an airport lounge. In the UK, airports operator BAA offers this service and you can book it on their website. Any suggestions?

If you want to rest you could try the reclining seats upstairs in the international (non-Shengan) side of the airport above the main shopping concourse. They are free.

I believe Schiphol has airport lounges for selected airlines and carriers...From what i remember there is KLM obviously, Emirates, BMI, Lufthansa etc...Check whether your airline offers a lounge @ Schiphol...
Otherwise there is an hotel onsite, known as Schiphol Airport Hotel, where you can get a room for even a few hours....
I would say, you got 5 hours...Go to Centraal Amsterdam and enjoy the Dutch Delights!! Grasshopper coffeeshop is really good and do excellent coffe, I must say...go for s stroll around red light district...It will open up your eyes..(maybe open other things too)...grab a couple of joints, Blaze and be merry...
then ead off to your final destination....But whatever you do, do nont tell anybody where u went and what you did....Most of all don't tell my name..they are looking for me...Blind fools!!

if you have so long between flights why not take a train into amsterdam, it only takes 20 minutes by train to amsterdam central station, you could then do a bit of shopping or get something to eat. If you have to stay at the airport there is plenty of shops,bars and restaurants so you wont really need a lounge.
