Hello, my friend! Good question, but, you make one false assumption in it. Not all Zionists base their faith on the Kabbalah, there is a sect that does, certainly, but, we are in the minority. That said, yes, you are correct, Jews must follow the Torah. In fact, those who study the Kabbalah must study the Torah in conjunction with it, and, we certainly are "real Jews". The Torah, and, it's basic principles, are not refuted, but validated and expanded upon in the Kabbalah. Witchcraft, mysticism, and, magick are not as maligned in the Torah as one might think. There are restrictions on ritualistic practices, yes, just like there are restrictions inherent in the Wiccan Rede, but, that does not mean that magick and mysticism as a whole is maligned in the Jewish faith, anyone who truly understands what it is to be Jewish understands this. After all, we base most of our faith on the examples, lives, and, predictions of prophets, who are nothing more than truly gifted psychics. Our most Joyous holidays are highly ritualized, complete with an opening and closing of a magickal circle (sit in on a passover seder and you'll see exactly what I mean). I know enough about Christianity to know that it has suffered from much the same disconnect from the original text that Judaism has, a Christian's fear of mysticsm, is a fear of the other, because Christians are still adamant in separating themselves from their former faith (after all, the first Christians were actually a Jewish sect). On the other hand, a Jew who fears mysticsm, fears their true self. You must understand that the subjegation of The Sacred Feminine in "mainstream" Judiasm is not faith based, neither is the disassociation from anything truly mystical or earth-based. These movements in our history were born out of two things, the first being, necessity. We were a conquered people forced to hide who we are for most of our history, so, we gradually eliminated ritual from the faith, made it portable and easy to disguise, it was painful for all involved, but, at the time, necessary to our survival as a people. The second thing was much less noble, politics, the need for one group to have power over another, that's why Judiasm appears to disproportionately favor men, when in fact in Judaism a child's faith is determined by the faith of it's mother, regardless of the faith of the father. Jewish women, we're Mystics, Witches, Healers, Mothers, Teachers,Priestesses, Queens, and, Goddesses; and, our men know it too.... They'd just never say it out loud. :-) The point of this rather long winded diatribe is this, faiths, and, people are not always what they seem. Good evening my friend. Blessed Be.

The ban against studying Kabbalah was lifted by the efforts of the sixteenth century Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Azulai (1570-1643).
I have found it written that all that has been decreed Above forbidding open involvement in the Wisdom of Truth [Kabbalah] was [only meant for] the limited time period until the year 5,250 (1490 C.E). From then on after is called the "Last Generation", and what was forbidden is [now] allowed. And permission is granted to occupy ourselves in the [study of] Zohar. And from the year 5,300 (1540 C.E.) it is most desirable that the masses both those great and small [in Torah], should occupy themselves [in the study of Kabbalah], as it says in the Raya M'hemna [a section of the Zohar]. And because in this merit King Mashiach will come in the future – and not in any other merit – it is not proper to be discouraged [from the study of Kabbalah]. (Rabbi Avraham Azulai)

A grimoires is a book of spells, you may have heard the term used in referance to a popular Sorcerer from the past who wrote one, One of the most popular Grimoires was written by King Solmon, his books are called the Keys of Solamon. As far as the second, first you must relize a spell is nothing more than a prayer. Semantic tribes (jews) used to sacrafice Oxen, Birds, Goats, Food, to their God Jahova (sounds kinda pagan hugh?). Modern Wiccans and pagans use herbs to help their mind focus to channel the energy in all things around us to help achieve a goal. But the mind is powerfull enough with practice to moderatly control the weather, shape and change objects, Levitate, and much more. Read every book you can, even ones you don't like, Knowledge is true power!

Just because they use the Kabbalah as a reference book while teaching Witchcraft it doesn't make them one and the same. Just like terrorists using the Koran, doesn't' make The Koran a book on terrorism. It is all about interpretation. The Holiest of scriptures have been used to justify the most horrific crimes to humanity, it doesn't make the scripture evil. Also what the Kabbalah teaches, a Mystical Spiritual Connection to Yahweh is not magic, but powerful understanding of prayer.
I am not saying that true Witchcraft Wicca is evil, I am just saying Kabbalah does not teach Witchcraft.

SPELL- a prayer, or verbal direction of magickal energies
toward the accomplishment of some goal.
SCRYING- divination, usually using such methods as crystal
gazing, or divination via incense smoke, or water as opposed
to tarot or other manipulative means.
CONE OF POWER- power raised in the circle by the Witches
assembled, and sent out into the world to work magick, is
usually visualized as being retained and built in the form
of a "cone" prior to release.
Do you pray, then you are casting spells.

Kabballah is not magic. That is some Hollywood practice that just copied the name. Kabballah is a mystical study of Torah.

There was an X-Files episode where a woman used Kabbalah to kill her husband's murderers. Maybe that started it all.
