I think you should find you a new position. I wouldn't depend on some government agency to decide what is going to be best for me. What have you always wanted to do? If the job you have is not working out for you and is actually making you sick, I think you need to look deep inside and use the opportunity to change your life for the better and possibly make a dream come true.

I have a similar problem. I also suffer from anxiety and depression and I am a nurse with a lot of stress. I used to get so anxious before going to work that I'd make myself sick. What I did was I contacted my EAP( Emplyoee Assistance Program), most companies have it, I'm not sure about the government jobs, but it's a free service with a counsler that you can talk over your anxieties and depression. After talking to the person at my EAP, she told me to contact my normal doctor and ask for an anti-anxiety/ anti-depression medication. This is one way of getting around costly pysch doctor bills. You've got someone to talk to and someone to get you the medication that you need. I've been on Lexapro for awhile now and my anxiety and depression has decrease a lot. If you love what you do and you love your job, you shouldn't just give up on it. If this doesn't help then look into a new job. Hope this help.
