am a single guy with no children and am looking for female friends of all ages and nationalities. I do not judge people by their appearance, but by their actions and I hope that others will treat me the same. I enjoy a multitude of sports that include scuba diving, archery and shooting, as well as an enjoying a night out with friends, as well as a quiet night home with someone special.
I am not the best looking guy in the world, but I am not the worst. I have this unfortunate trait of coming across to women as more of a big brother than a lover or husband.

Dude, just be yourself and if thats the big brother approach then so be it. Wouldnt you rather fall in love with a girl that loves you for who you are, not what your trying to be? The right person will come along in time, it just involves patience. I had the same question you did. I'm not a bad looking guy and yet it took me quite a while to find a girl. So don't blame it on your appearence. There is a girl out there for every guy. Dont' sweat it and keep your head high!

Okay honesty here.....sometimes nice guys can be overly nice. A woman doesnt want a guy that they can run over. They want someone that can hold their own and not so needy. If you are any of these this will make a person back away a couple of feet. Also some females are about the looks. If looks arent up the part but the personality and everything is great some females would just rather be friends.

I can empathize with you. Although I guess I come across as more of a "same-age brother" or a "little brother"...
Anyhow, my theory is that it simply takes longer for women to appreciate guys who aren't "edgy" or "mean". "Nice" guys, as they say, finish "last". But I also think that nice guys finish "best". "The last shall be first, and the first last" (sort of a joke there).
In other words, I think that women, like men, make first impressions. If you aren't "aggressive" towards them initially, they may not think you're interested in them, when in fact you withhold your "aggression" for other reasons. Then again, I'm no psychologist. Heh.
Sorry about the overuse of quotation marks. We should be able to use italics and boldface on Y! Answers, don't you think?

Because nice guys are unattractive.
Girls care more about your personality then your looks, just dress well, groom yourself and work out.
Your personality? Be a MAN. Start acting confident and even a little cocky, but in a funny way. If a woman is attracted to you, TALK TO HER, FIND OUT ABOUT HER.
It's really not that hard, it's about improving your life and I think you don't have anything more important to do.

What do you mean by nice guy ? are you good in the game of love ? are you willing to take risks ?
A nice guy gets nothing for being nice. People pay for a product or a service. If you offer nothing you get nothing. if you are just nice to other, other will be nice to you, but give you nothing.

a lot of women now adays go for the gansta type because they want to tame him, then when they cant, they call on a guy like you to complain about how the guy mistreated her...
