Probably not. For catholics, the Pope is infallible. This means he is never wrong.

The Catholic Churches ban on birthcontrol was because they wanted as many people born and indoctrinated into its faith.

Catholics teach against birth control because God does.

The first thing God told newly created man to do was to be fruitful and multiply. He never withdrew that divine mandate.

Those who choose to contracept don't realize that by doing so they are cheating themselves and their loved ones (not to mention the world) of life's greatest blessings.

It demonstrates a basic lack of faith in God's providence, and it goes against one of the Bible's oldest and most enduring principle ... one which was universally observed and followed by all Christian denominations ... up until the early 20th century.

Don't put too much faith in that article you linked to. The Catholic Church still has Christ as it's head, and God hasn't changed his mind on the birth control issue.

Sorry, the Church will not change it's views on artificial contraception.

The Church does not yield to flawed earthly "logic". It obeys the will of God.
