Or then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the END of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. I capitalized end because that's what I'm wondering about.

The New American Standard Bible (NASB) translates this verse much more literally, using " at the consummation of the ages".

The Greek word translated "end" in the KJV and "consummation" in the NASB is "suntelia" which means "entire completion".

Jesus' death on the cross was the consummation of the ages, or the entire completion, in that God's plan of redemption was Finished on the cross. No more sacrifices need to be made. That is why Jesus cried out, "It is finished!" (which would more literally be translated "It HAS BEEN finished!" since the Greek verb is in the perfect tense.

First, the verse you are asking about is verse 26.

To understand it, we must keep in mind the whole context and also know the Jewish law up until that time. Hebrews was written to show that Jesus was the final sacrifice and that we need not have the high priest enter into the Holy of Holies any longer to give a sacrifice, that instead Jesus entered heaven itself to end the sting of sin because HE was the sacrifice..the LAMB of GOD who took away the sin of the world.

The "end of the world" would be easier to understand if we read it as "the end of the ages" We are under GRACE so the sacrifice in the temple is no longer needed.

The sacrifice Jesus made for us has to be accepted in order to apply to our sin. If we have not accepted it, we will not have eternal life. Read the link below to make sure you have accepted it.

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

I'm sure you meant 26...The end does refer to this time after the resurection the end times.

my interpretation is that this is more unprovable, mythical, fairy tale scribblings from a cult book of extraordinary superstition and mythological cultism. it sounds pretty ridiculous.
