Please, don't get me wrong. I respect the fact that we have women who are willing to put their own lives on the line. Just wondering if it causes more harm than good.

When I wrote this I was only comparing the physcial strength of a man to a women. I was only looking at what she could not do vs what she could do. And I'm sorry for that.

not always....some female cops or firefighters r better at work then male co workers....not only men commit crime women do to....so in case of a search we have a woman cop :)

Wow, you are going to get a lot of negative answers for that question. I am a FEMALE parole agent and I go through the same physical training as the men do in my job. I am 5'10" and trust me the guys I supervise know not to mess with me. Policing and parole is not all about brut strenght, trust me I am not the best runner, but I can cuff a guy and wrestle him down if need be. See, we don't get points anymore for wearing skirts and being female, so we have to be as good as the guys. Plus, if you get by somehow and don't hold your own, trust me you will hear about it when you get to the street and then you may want to find another career. Women are just as capable and are assets in many ways to law enforcement; just ask my guys!

As far as female police go, YES! Most female officers are a lot more calmer than their male counter parts and have more patience. Some male criminals respect the female officers because they are women in authority, like their mother. NOT always the case though. But a female cop can search a woman in places that a man can't. I have seen some female officers kick some butt. I think that they are great and I encourage female police officers. They are a great asset!

I would say with modern technology, it cause more good than harm.
There are also some things that only women can do that men can't, so it will always be good to have a female police/fireman.

They have a legal right to work alongside males but I must admit it could be very dangerous for female police officers on any force, when confronted with a violent criminal! Mace is the answer I would think.

It shows that everyone can be respected regarded by race and sex. Didn't people think at one time why do we need blacks to do the job ? Women are perfect and as long as they are qualified why not. I don't know where you are getting at but I know a women police officer who was shot and saved many people. How dare you insult women firefighters and police officers.
