or how can one be so ignorant, yet proud of his/her ignorance?

like the way they love to preach against something they totally know little, or close to nothing, of. how is spreading hate can be confused as spreading love?

how can some people twist something beautiful into something ugly, yet they can justify it because they claim they understood the Bible well?

You must be talking about David T. I think he caught wind of something that he believes to be the truth and chased after it, but is actually running in circles. I can sympathize since the end times are pretty scary and he's merely trying to secure his ticket to Heaven.

He is approaching this the wrong way though, I believe.

Not really sure what you are specifically talking about here. I know the Bible because I've studied it for over 30 years. If I am considered biased it's because I am sure of what I believe in based on what I have learned from the Bible. God is very specific about what is sin. As a Christian I can't condone sin nor can I see "beauty" in it. People choose to see us as hating them when what we hate is the sin. The reason we hate the sin is because it has people bound and dying an eternal death. The Bible says "there is pleasure in sin....(but here's the catch)....for a season." So, what may seem so beautiful to you can turn very ugly very quickly. God is the same yesterday, today & forever. If there is something He condemned in the Bible He still condemns it today regarless of what is now considered "politically correct." Sin is sin. My refusing to condone sin is not ignorance. It's also not tolerance. Which is what most of the world claims they are looking for. It's Godliness & it's a choice to be Holy instead of worldly regardless of what label you choose to put on it.

Have you been to a real church lately? I have been to a lot. Maybe if you would go then you wouldn't be such a hater yourself, and see that what is preached is very tame and full of love. I suspect that you have a 'orientation' issue don't you? This is apparent since you skirt around this whole issue. If you have pride, why don't you say what you really mean here? Pretty ambiguous to me. LOL
An ignorant person who just told you the truth, weird, huh?

You have to realize, many people become Atheists after having been Christians who really read the bible. It does have a lot of bad things in it. How can you deny God killing everyone in the Flood, or Him murdering Jobs family to prove something to Satan? I honestly can't understand how anyone could think that was beautiful.

Current estimates of Roman Catholic priests in the U.S.= 49,000 to 50,000

Estimates of pedophile priests = 3,000 (6.1%) to 8,000 (16.3%)

188 Dioceses in the U.S. Divide 3,000 by 188 = 16 perpetrators per diocese
Divide 8,000 by 188 = 42 perpetrators per diocese

Current experts claim a pedophile could abuse 200-265 children in a lifetime.
200 x 16 perps/diocese = 3,200 victims/diocese
200 x 42 perps/diocese = 8,400 victims/diocese
3,200 victims/diocese x 188 dioceses = 601,600 victims in U.S.
8,400 victims/diocese x 188 dioceses = 1,579,200 victims in U.S.

188 Bishops are responsible for the pain of at least 601,600 direct victims . Clearly, something is wrong.

The number of direct victims and survivors alone could populate a city larger than Boston.

Is this part of the "true Church of Christ" that Jesus spoke of???

Is it awful that I rebuke it??
If so, then let me be awful.

Bless you, be free from the Catholic Beast!

Funny, I seriously had no idea who you were talking about until you mentioned the Bible. What you say can apply to so many people I'm unclear how you picked out the Christians.

Guess you have your own bias.

That is the nature of being one's own characteristics. I must admit that these people tend to live on and on with their ideology and philosophy which in turns could be be stupid at times.

The bible is used as justification to spread hate and bigotry. 1Corinthians is one of the worst in the new testament for hate. Paul was a homophobe and his writings reflect that.

I could go on and on about Leviticus as well.
