I've been violated for supposedly "insulting" someone with my answer to a question in this category. I was stating my viewpoint regarding homosexuality and I was told I had insulted the question-asker with my response.
My question is this: Do you "report abuse" on questions OR answers that you find "Insulting?" If we all did, would there be any questions left in the R&S Category?

To the "dont even go there..." thank you, I've reported you for being "insulting." Happy trails!!
Pirate: yes that's my point, your questions are a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I could go and "report abuse" on all of them but I prefer to let you have your say and your opinion. Just wish others would respect me the same.

*I have recieved 2 violations that I did not deserve for just being honest and answering questions. I guess that is a chance we take.
*Personally, I only report obvious violations and then not very many of them usually they have to be illegal or threatening, not to me but to others. The last few days has been pretty tame compared to what it gets sometimes.
If yahoo deleted every question and answer that violated their policy, this section would not have near as much going on as it does. *

Unfortunately, there's a reason they caution people not to discuss religion or politics. Some people just get too worked up because they care passionately about their own view of the matter. And I do mean 'passionately' - as in, they get so caught up by their emotional investment that they lose sight of reason, or at least the notion that someone else could legitimately see things differently. We are dealing with humans, after all, and they're a quirky species.
I generally don't report anyone unless they're threatening or clearly trying to insult people with other views; also if the asker is simply trying to promote their own religion without asking an actual question. Most minor snarky comments, the worst I'll do is give the answer a thumbs down.

I have had questions deleted before they were posted so I am not sure how they do it. ( Cost me 20 points) Other people can report you too but they sure take a long time to delete porn and other nasty stuff. I would say the devil is in control of these matters.

No I don't. But if it is crude, vulgar, racist, or for any other reason, simply unacceptable, then yes I report. If it's merely insulting I just ignore it. If we all reported what is insulting, half the stuff posted here would be gone.

Nothing. Apparantly, some people's "nothing" adds up to a whole lot of "something".
