The treatment is to surgically remove them. It can usually be done in the dermatologist's office, under a local anasthetic with very little recovery time.
I don't know the exact cost, but insurance will usually cover it if the mole is the type that may develop into skin cancer.

first they numb the area, then they just cut it off with a razor.. completely painless, even though it doesn't sound that way.
