No. From a non-religious stance, god is an idea. It's the people who cause damage to the world, not "god." That's like committing a crime or doing something wrong or hurtful in the name of "love," Love is an idea, it's not actually tangible. If you were to claim that an idea of "god" is destructive for humanity, it's completely logical to argue that the imagination and human creation is equally as destructive because it too can lead to destruction. Somebody had to imagine the bomb.

Christians and jews aren't killing anyone in todays world. They're just getting killed. More christians have been killed in the last 50 years than in the last 19 centuries. Considering all the innocent people that the communists killed from 1917 to 1989(about 170 million) and they're still killing people I would say it's safe to say that atheists are a negative force in the world also.

Please realize that the roots of all these three monotheistic religions are from the Middle East. All the prophets, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed came from there. Now to rephrase your question: Were these people so evil, that the Lord sent his messengers to them to teach them the right way? Or were these nations so good that only from them could come "the best" among us? Not the gardener, nor the seeds were rottten nor destructive, as anyone who intends to plant seeds does so in hope of reaping fruit. It is those who tended the garden afterward who allowed pests and blight to attack the "garden."

I'd rather say that those religions are what is destructive and their leaders and the fanatics within them are the negative force. It has never been proven that those religions really represent God, so if God exists he is not necessarily anything like those religions describe him.

The World's religion situation has really gotten out of control with no man in a cloud to keep it in check. The genocide from killing for God has no end in sight because everyone is encouraged to look the other way, if they didn't, religion would start to fail.

You might as well say that if two states fight over water, then there must be something wrong with water.

Come on! The truly enlightened ones never engage in war- neither of thoughts, words, nor deeds. It is the hypocrites, who twist certain aspects to suit themselves and choose to turn a blind eye to the rest of their holy books, which give a bad name to their religion.

Following any religion to the T will not get anybody anywhere, because we all have to read, analyse, meditate and choose what in the book applies to us, and improve ourselves accordingly.

A woman asked, "Rabbi, what of those that follow other Teach-
ers?"
And He answered, smiling, "There are many rooms in your Father's

house, and many fields in Heaven. And I come again, and yet again, and
as there are many languages of mankind, so are there many Names for
Deity. Rejoice in it, and be glad of the diversity of Deity, and do not
hate those that call the Diety by other names, but rather weigh them by
their deeds."
And one asked of Him, "How should we pray?"
And He answered, saying, "Pray in your own fashion, as you will,
for all prayer is good. But if you wish, pray thusly:"
"Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom
come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread, and forgive us our errors, as we forgive the errors of
others. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
"And if you feel this prayer should be given to the Mother, then
let it be so."
And a Priest shouted, angrily, "Shall God be then female?"
And He answered, "The Deity is what It will be, not what you
make It into. You see the Diety in your own image; if you are vengeful,
then your God is vengeful. If you are full of hate, then your God is
hateful. But if you have love, then you shall know the Deity's love.
Listen, and be wise."
A child asked, "Father, how shall we know what is right, and
what is wrong?"
And He replied, "Weigh it by it's fruits. If it gives a bad
fruit, then it is wrong, but if the fruit is good, then eat of it and be
happy."
"But Brother, what of a fruit that seems to be good, yet will
poison us slowly?" asked another.
And He answered, "If a man die of it, then it is an evil fruit.
Look you to the past, see the mistakes therein, and learn therefrom. And
beware those who would lead you into error thru their own need of power
over you; leave them to the trap of their own making."
One of the Priests came to Him, a man enmeshed in legalism, and,
thinking to trap Him said, "Teacher, What is the Law?"
And He looked at the Priest and said, "Love God. Love thy
neighbor. All else is commentary, and the Law of Man. Study the holy
books of all faiths, weigh the good and the bad in each, and learn."
And the Priest went away abashed.

no, because it's not god who does damage to the world, it's the people adhering to these beliefs who destroy everything around them through their heresy and intolerance. islam, christianity and judaism, as well as all other beliefs, are interpretations of what lies beyond the physical world. so don't blame god...blame the people.

Each of those religions also teaches there is a person called the Devil. They teach he is the arch enemy of mankind. It obviously hasn't occurred to you that he is the you should be blaming, not God.

I would most certainly say that monotheism, particularly the Middle Eastern variety, is indeed very negative and harmful.
