No, it is a ploy by Bush Administration to make more money. One passport almost costs 100.00 US dollars. Do the math and then see how much is collected so that Bush and his gang of thugs in the White House including that arrogant crooked Cheney can pillage that money to line their own pockets.

Alot of mexicans already here do not go home and see their family again because of fear of not being able to get back in. This was way before the passport issue. I STRONGLY doubt it will hurt anyone's tourist industry. Why? It costs alot of money to vacation in these places. You don't see any McDonald's workers soaking up the sun in the Bahamas. Unless they are with mom and dad. It costs 100 dollars to get a passport and quite alot more even to buy a plane ticket there. It takes two weeks to process and get the passport. Then you sign it. NO BIG DEAL!
It is entirely your fault about your student loan(which you obviously aren't paying because I have a student loan as well and have left the country several times, with a passport).
It is also YOUR fault you are a flight risk. For the majority of normal Americans, this is not a problem.

i don't think the passport requirement is against mexicans, or will hurt traveling citizens to leave the country to those islands. most people who have money to go to islands have the change for a passports its only about 130 dollars with speed processing. and they have been preparing and planning this new rule for over 4 years now, cause of the terrorists situation. its really common sense for any country to require a passport to travel across borders its just safer and more secure that way. cause without it what would stop terrorist from the middle east or any were, to go to mexico or canada and just cross there for travel disguised as canadian citizens or mexican citizens but without official proof? and they are working on fixing the airport screening lists.

The idea is to know who is here. Making those entering the U.S. have a passport just helps to verify their identification, legal status and nation of origin.
You don't need a passport to leave, you need one to get in.
Criminals and those who come here illegally (of any national origin) are the ones being targeted.

Passports are not expensive! The only people who can't get them are non-citizens and felons.

Quicherbellyakin.

(Why are you a "flight risk"? What did you do to deserve that?)

What are you talking about? The border should be sealed immediately. By the way, they will have to kill sensible people before they get that mark of the beast stuff going.

If you can't afford the $50 to file for a passport.. you probably aren't going overseas any time soon.
