I fail to see the connection. The U.S. is a free country. There are problems with foreign policy but that has little to do with the average American.

It has to do with the influence of the oil industry, the weapons industry and the military-industrial complex on foreign policy and the indifference of the Pentagon and C.I.A. to the effects of their decision-making policies. As for you and your wife, that is a personal matter not related to politics. There is little democracy in the Middle East. I would point out that I read an article about Russia selling weapons to Iran, so it is not only about the U.S.

I'd have to agree with that on several points and disagree with it on several points. For the most part, you have religious fundamentalism on both sides which are forcing the clash. On the other, the United States is much more open society. You can't have people of modern and even new age faiths doing well in the Mid-East.

Yes!!! If you gathered together all of America's goodwill since the year 1776 - it would just about reflect all the hatred one finds in the Middle East ---Arab or Jew --- it's all the same Hate!!!

The U.S. is completely opposite of the mideast when it comes to personal freedoms.

I do think all people the world over want to love, be loved and have a comfortable life for themselves and their families. Its the political, business and religious leaders who mess it up by stirring up the rest of the world.

I think so. If I'm understanding your question correctly, I say the U.S. is a child of Israel and totally have gone astray.

No. So what. And, NO. You're comparing a house on the lake to a tent in a junk-yard.
