my partner came home from a night out and he was talking on his mobile phone - so i got up to see him and when i came downstairs he hung up the phone and switched it off - Anyway we had a massive row about who was on the phone he said it was one of his friends and he had turned the phone off when he heard me because he was drunk.
My problem is this he swears it wasn't his ex or anything like that but i just dont believe him - it's made me so paranoid i check his phone etc - this happened a few years ago now but it still bothers me and i cant let it go becuase i dont believe what he said. when i try to talk about he he just says he cant do it as it was so long ago - should i move on and forget it or have it out with him?

It happened years ago and you're still upset?!?! Let it go. Try examining what else in the relationship is making you feel uncomfortable. If you think he's cheating on you, leave him. If not, drop it. Now, for your own good.

I believe without trust there's nothing else really....
If you have a suspicion then your probably right... no smoke without fire right?
if it was totally innocent why didn't he just give you the phone and say have a look...?
I will never understand why men and women put their-selves through this.. checking phones, going through pockets, smelling coats and checking collars!
Find your self respect and say your not gonna be with someone who (you believe) lies to you and who wont help you prove otherwise
Personal opinion...........Move on Hun!!!

if so pls stop bothering about and also stop talking with him about it .

why are you still with him??? It's obvious that he was hiding something from you and the fact that you don't trust him over this should tell you that you have nothing with him... without trust in a relationship there is no relationship and all that's left is constant wonder and torture, stop torturing yourself and leave him :) :) :)
