The egg, of course. When the Earth was in it's earliest stage and was just a big blob, bacteria and other things were starting to form on it. A full-sized chicken didn't just sprout out of the soil.
The egg was created due to everything that was going on. You had little particles splitting, combining, cloning... just creating new elements, new bacteria and other things.
Somehow, little particles met and created something that later formed into an egg.
It would be funny to imagine chickens floating in space, waiting for the Earth as it cools off so they could come here and settle.

The egg came first- but it wasn't a chicken in the egg. at least , not the first egg.

Logic dictates that the chicken had to come first. If the egg came first, what built the nest and sat on it to hatch it then raise it?

I do know that we evolved from something small and we definetly evolved from apes. I would say the chicken came first, and evolved into having eggs, since it is the Komodo Dragon that has laid an egg without even having sex.

the chicken had to come first,because without a hen and cock there wouldnt have been reproduction..so no chance of an egg coming before a chicken.
