i just answered another persons question...
they asked how long we have to put up with atheists and other pagan religions... blah blah
my answer~
that's what's wrong. people who don't respect other people's religion. ok, so i'm christian... for the most part. by default by my parents and upbringing i believe in god/there is a god. but i don't pray. i don't go to church. i don't say god bless you (but i do say bless you). i don't always remember to capitalize the g in god. i'm not a 'good' christian. i don't believe in missionaries. if a culture or civilization has been doing fabulously for hundreds or thousands of years... what or who gives you the right to go and build a christain church or school and force them to change their religion? it works for them. if they weren't satisfied they would have found a new religion on their own a long time ago.
i do celebrate christmas. but more for the family, feel-good, hospitality, be good to other people reasons.
is this wrong to think?

You sound like the type of Christian I could actually get alone with. It is a shame there aren't more like you. The world would be a better place.

I tend to think with all three Abrahemic religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, that for SOME of those who are more religious, they are the ones who grow to have cold hearts towards others who don't practice their religion, and to those of the same religion who aren't as practicing. Their is more judging for the faults of others, more hate towards those of another religion, and more shoving of their religion down other people's throats. And its more funny because this kind of behavior is not how a religious person is suppose to have.

Those that tend to claim one of these religions but not practice it everyday of their lives tend to be the ones who are more open minded and want to get along with each other despite the different religious backgrounds.

Of course this is not with everyone... as there are wonderful religious Jews, Christians and Muslims all over. But everyone can see these cases here on Yahoo! Answers. Some of the religious members are very nice, yet others only post judgemental and critical posts of those who are of different religions.

Intolerance, fanaticism, superstition, prejudice, narrow-mindedness...are all bad. primitive, savage. But being a believer with no interest to introduce religion to other people is also not good. Human beings are particularly endowed with the rational sense to live by high ideals taught by God through His Divine Messengers in order that they truly reflect the spiritual image of God. Human beings cannot live only by the urge of instincts like other creatures. Therefore, in the civilized society, true believers need to learn constantly and to guide their neighbours to the law of the One True God, but with love, not by coercion.

God gave people the free will to choose Him or not choose Him. If most cannot see Him for who He truly is and care to pick and choose what they want to take from Him, give him nothing in return, use Him and go make up their own mish mash wishy washy beliefs then that is their choice. What we sow we reap and what goes around comes around. Seems to me we can all express what we believe, but we are not to force our beliefs on anyone..God does not..what right do any of us have?

Religious people often use their idiotic religious books to spread hate and bigotry. There are many people who are accepting and supportive of others beliefs.

What is important is that God does not care which road we take. Most souls cross over. Religion or believing in God is not necessary.

Well said. Me being an athiest means I have no desire to be converted or preached to. Which is the same principal.

no I'm not actually. I believe that each person must be comfortable with their own beliefs and not expect all people to conform to their way of thinking. What works for one doesn't always work for someone else.

A man asked, "Teacher, what shall we do when those that hate us
strike us?"
And He answered, "Turn the other cheek, and let them strike you
again. Give them love in return for hate. If you must take up the sword,
then do it in great reluctance, and only after you have stepped aside
time and time again. Remember that I bring you not peace, but a sword,
for this Path will separate you from your families and friends, and your
enemies will persecute you in their ignorance."
"And forgive your enemies, and those who wrong you, that you may
put away your anger and live in love."
A woman asked, "Rabbi, what of those that follow other Teach-
ers?"
And He answered, smiling, "There are many rooms in your Father's

house, and many fields in Heaven. And I come again, and yet again, and
as there are many languages of mankind, so are there many Names for
Deity. Rejoice in it, and be glad of the diversity of Deity, and do not
hate those that call the Diety by other names, but rather weigh them by
their deeds."
And one asked of Him, "How should we pray?"
And He answered, saying, "Pray in your own fashion, as you will,
for all prayer is good. But if you wish, pray thusly:"
"Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom
come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread, and forgive us our errors, as we forgive the errors of
others. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
"And if you feel this prayer should be given to the Mother, then
let it be so."
And a Priest shouted, angrily, "Shall God be then female?"
And He answered, "The Deity is what It will be, not what you
make It into. You see the Diety in your own image; if you are vengeful,
then your God is vengeful. If you are full of hate, then your God is
hateful. But if you have love, then you shall know the Deity's love.
Listen, and be wise."

There is no such thing as a "christian....for the most part"

Jesus is L-rd of all...or He is not L-rd At all.

Bless you, hope you find Him one day, sister! Till then, peace!
David T

Jesus said "you are thinking as men think, not as G-d thinks"

Meaning? You are right about the things of the earth, but remember the things of Heaven. You need Jesus to be saved.

I am sorry you call yourself Christian by default. although you are a peacefull person it does not seem you know Christ and I am afraid unless you take Christianity seriusly you will find yourself in hell. christian means a follower of Christ.
