Recently I read in Yahoo Answers that typical British breakfast consists of, among other things, two eggs (rich in cholesterol) sausages (fat and red meat) and bacon (again fat and red meat).

I cannot bring myself to imagine eating two eggs every day.

Isn't this type of meal very unhealthy?

Seriously, that is not something most Brits will eat daily. We might have a fry up once a week. I usually just eat wholegrain cereal, fruit or brown toast for breakfast.

HTH : )

eating healthy isn't about restricting everything that is labeled bad, it's about balance. you can still eat plenty of saturated fats as long as your increase your unsaturated fat intake to keep your HDL-C:LDL-C ratio

I eat 6 whole eggs almost daily but I also intake a lot of fiber so my total cholesterol levels are low right around 130-160 mg/dl

genetics also plays a big role in total cholesterol levels. since the body also makes cholesterol there are many people with high total cholesterol levels with a low dietary cholesterol intake

It is quite unhealthy but if you grill the meat and scramble or poach the eggs, its not so bad. Best to be avoided in a resteraunt though as its more likely to fried in fatty oils. Its nice for the odd treat!

i think 2 eggs a day can be acceptable. eggs are good sources of protein too. eat low cholesterol eggs or don't eat the yolk. personally i don't like bacon. get some lean sausages.
