Instead of the term, "ongoing training", possibly, we need to stay current with our training, to assist in enhancing our skills. For instance, when I was taking typing classes way back when I was in high school, and business college, I was told (how true) that the more I (all of us) practiced the home row, etc., the more efficient our typing skill would become, and therefore, due to that, our typing speed would increase. It worked! Wishing you and the troops the best! Take care.

You can only remember so much and need to start off with the basics. As you use the information you have it becomes practical and easy to discern. Then your ready to add more skills and information to your level of ability making you more muti-tasked. This is valuable in case your called upon in an emergency situation to perform your duties and someone elses. It may save lives, even your own.

When you train on something so long that you can do it in your sleep - your muscles will do it when you need them to without your thinking.
Don't believe me? If you know how to touch type, put your fingers on the desk and spell your name - your fingers do it WITHOUT thinking and VERY fast, right? That's why you practice and drill! Quicker reactions make a difference when it counts!

We must stay "fit to fight" so that we can "fight tonight" when we "attack" and "kill the enemy".
If you have spent any time in 2ID near the no smile zone you should know most of those phrases, and if you spent time in 1/38 you should know all of them.
