I know that it is supposed to break into 13 pieces and have some stuff in it that a soldier would use if he got caught. But wht did it contain and am I correct in the function of the contents.

The truk is the golden ball at the top of the main flag pole on any military installation. It represents the "shot that was heard around the world," fired 19 April, 1775 at Lexington, Massachusetts.

There is story that there is a razor blade, 9mm bullet, and a match inside it. If the base is being overrun by the enemy, the last soldier standing has the task to break open the truk, then use the razor to cut the flag by removing the stars and the stripes, then use the match to burn the flag, then use the 9mm bullet in his sidearm to commit suicide. This is all done to maintain the honor of our flag and not let it be captured by the enemy.
