My mom calls us at our time of birth every year. If you know any of her friends ask them to help, maybe you could have them deliver a "suprise gift" from you through them. good luck.

Contact several of her friends and have a surprise luncheon for her. They can be the ones to get her to the restaurant. Maybe an afternoon of shopping after that. She will appreciate the gesture.
