REally this is driving me nuts. He is 9 months old. I am tired of washing the floor or my clothing. I don't like to smell like essenese of dog pee. Will he out grow this? or is there a behavior problem here?

He will grow out of this faster if you can help him develop self control and confidence. some dogs pee out of fear, or submission. Punishing him will make this WORSE. Just ignore it.

When you get home, ignore him completely at first until he gets calmer. The speak to him in soft tones, visit with him but do it soothingly, so he doesn't get excited. Teach him to sit and only give him pets when he is sitting.

All of those things help develop confidence. Take him to a training class. That is a good way to help him grow up and develop the self control he needs to stop peeing in excitement.

I doubt anybody like the smell of dog pee.

Sounds like your dog is submissively urinating. Punishment will make this worse, unfortunately. Take him to a training class. He can learn to greet you with restraint, so he doesn't get that excited.

If you stay calm, he'll stay calmer.

And yes, they usually outgrow this.

i had a cockerspainiel that did this and it turns out she was just over excited easily. when she would greet us at the door we would raise our voices excitedly and she would pee. we fixed this problem by when we came inside the house we would slowly bend to her level and give her one pat before walking past her and she in turn would calm down and not pee everywhere.

every night tell him that dont pee inside okay, pee out side... that way they can learn not to pee inside... and when you remind him 5 or 6 time or maybe trice tell him that . "I will not gonna feed you again if you continue".... but of course dont be serious when you say " I will not gonna feed you again"... Your dog might get hungry..
