No. I most definitely would not want monogrammed towels for valentines (or any time really). As far as he goes - that would depend on the kind of person he is. Does he have a monogrammed briefcase, wear polo shirts with the collar up or in anyway give the impression that that is his style?
It's not a very romatic gift, really - unless you plan to be wearing one with nothing underneath when you give it to him.
Peace!

As a guy, I can tell you a towel is just a towel. A monogram is just a fancy decoration. A metrosexual might like monogrammed towels.

Yeah, just make sure the lettering isn't all fruity-loopy script; stick with simple block print. His buddies at the gym are going to be seeing these.
If you feel like splurging, get matching bathrobes for both of you, and show up at home wearing nothing but yours. Then he'll think of you every time he sees those towels.

It sounds like a well thought out idea. It's personal, thoughtful and practical.
Just pick a color that will hide staining and frequent washing and that won't draw undo attention to him. Pick a nice blue or gray or some masculine color so idiots at the gym won't give him a hard time.
Try just his initials in block letters, or his nickname if he has one.
Good idea.

Does he have any hobbies or interests? Like, I'm a huge "Gangster" movie fan....well, my wife got me a big painting of Al Pacino, Robert Deniero, and others, and she set it up w/ all of my favorite DVD's set up in fron of the picture. If he has anything that he's really interested in whether it be dirt bikes or stuff for his car. He'll like that, along w/ other things that my wife "gave" me ;)

I think its a damn thoughtful idea! It's unique and not your typical gift - I say GO FOR IT! It may not be my first choice of gifts - but i wouldn't have even thought about it to begin with so it would make for a nice surprise!

Not really. Spend the money on a gym bag or something along those lines.

Not to sound rude nor disrespectful to your thoughts, but in all honesty I think that sounds a bit cheesy.
I know that's not constructive criticism, but it is the truth.
