I don't think so that they're hated, when I started to read the questions and answers here, I found out that Christianity is widely hated but Islam was really like widely liked, in here people call us mean, arrogant, retards etc I'm very sick and tired of these offending questions and answers about Christianity being very bad. So why is Christianity widely hated?

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. -John 15:18&19
You don't have to look farther than the words of our Lord to find the real answer to this question.

"Why do people say "Islam is widely hated"?

Good question. I don't know either.

"So why is Christianity widely hated?"

Long story short, I used to hate Christians too, and honestly, I don't know why I ever did. I guess it was rebellion against my upbringing. I also read lots of occult literature when I was younger, and most of it is very anti-Christian. Eventually I just got tired of hating. When I did, I realized how stupid I'd been. I actually started going to a Church (partly for social reaons, partly because I figured since all religions are true it was OK).

I went so far as to get confirmed, and when I did, I got the Holy Spirit (which is supposed to happen at Episcopal confirmation and in my case it actually did!), and that's when I - - I was born again for a lack of a better term, LOL!

I started getting active at my church (which I may be leaving soon) and strated taking Seminary classes.

Now I have a website to educate people about the occult, Wicca, The DaVinci Code, etc.

I think that's what we need to do to combat the hate is educate people. Once they see Christians aren't the epitome of all that's evil, the hate will diminsh.

Christianity is hated and disliked by children born of Christian parents, but Islam is disliked and hated by non-Muslims all over the world. The Muslims never see the backside of their own faith and never get the chance for introspection; where as Christians do admit their flaws and after analysis are ready to correct. So what you see in Yahoo Answers on Christianity is by Christians themselves which indicates an intense desire to introspect. Among Hindus it is a continuous process that is why they are ever green.

Here I am being a neutral person because I do not belong to any of these religions but the problem is that some people are ignorants and there is no you or they. We all are us. Cant you see? AN average person in USA communicates really well with other person irrespective of their religion and stuff because we are all humans first and some morons don't get that idea. The Yahoo! Answers is not the world and to tell you the truth most people say offensive things here are retarded or inexperienced.
PEACE!

Both christianity and islam have tormented the world with extreme violence and excessive missionaries. Basically they both have enough history to cause anybody to hayt them.hoever, although the majority of muslims aren't terrorists (which means that there is no justified reason to hate Islam), There is an imminent & justified threat (in the name of Islam) felt by the rest of the world. Are people justified to hayt Islam? NO. But are people justified by feeling threatened and scared by Islam? YES. If Islam wants to give themselves a good name then it is only up to them to show that to the world.

I don't think, the only people who are always attacking the Christians mostly of the times are atheists without fundamentals and the Islam is attacked mostly of the times by racists and fanatics, but I also have seen the same from some radical Muslims. When we gonna understand that people is judge by their actions and not for religion, nationality, language skin color, etc?

Its a very oppressive religion regarding women. Many Muslim women are not happy with the restrictions imposed on them but are too afraid to speak out. Islam claims to be the fastest growing religion however people realize that its main area of growth is in countries where there is no religious freedom (people have no choice). The restrictions on its women are due to the problems within the minds of Islamic men, so why are women punished for that? And the terrorists threat of, "Convert to Islam or die" is not helping it to gain popularity. 9/11 didn't help either. Islam needs to do more positive things for all the people for instance, there are many Catholic, Protestant, Jewish etc. hospitals where patients of all faiths are welcome. Islam must do more positive things and less negative. Most religions are becoming hated because there are over 100 million people killed in the name of God and the religions (including yours) encourage the followers to ignore it. Why must people of all faiths ignore religious genocide?

its a matter of perspective, ppl hate islam since some of muslim destroyed wtc. some hates christian since some foolish christian tried to steal some liquid from middle east, etc.. etc..

the point is: its not about religion, its all about bastards doing wrongful act carrying the flag of some religion.

but people are sometimes too arrogant to learn and admit their faults. fanatics will not accept the fact that they are wrong..

Oh, perhaps you come on a blessed day when Islam-bashers are off transgressing somewhere else outside yahoo! answers. Anyway, from my experience, I have to say that people would find or even create many unreasonable reasons and false evidences if they want to hate something. There's nothing much that we can do except for wondering how the world has come to this.

Peace and Love

because it is authentic. Islam ability peace. those Al-Qaeda all and sundry is loopy. they imagine they go with to forcefully spread Islam. people have achieved this interior the previous. it is like even as Jim Jones confident 9,000 people to commit suicide. That made people in different international places imagine undesirable about Christianity. the authentic factor of Islam is that you do not do greed. you attempt to grant your life to Allah (God). Spend each and every second, no longer wondering about your self, yet considering some thing of Allah's creation.
