For the last 25 years private medical colleges started in India exclusively to produce doctors to work abroad. . It`s a lucrative business in India. Now Indians are going to China,Ukraine and some other countries to become doctors only to work abroad.American hospitals employ Indian doctors as Indians work for a pittance. And of course Indian doctors are intelligent, hard working and very skilled.

Being a Doctor in India has always been considered a very highly respected field. I've even noticed that some folks consider docs being treated like 'god sent'. Because of this prestige most parents prefer their children to become doctors. Because of this prestige there are many private medical college to accommodate aspiring Md's.
