Ive had this before. If it is super dry you could try rubbing a little vasaline on it over night to help heal some of the dryness. If you blow dry your hair and things this will cause this to occur. I suggest in infesting in an oil free face cleanser (like from Almay) and use it everyday, especially focusing around your hair line, and in a few days you will see no more dry skin patches!

I went to cosmetology school. What you need is something with Tea Tree Oil in it. It works to treat the scalp. I would reccomend Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner. But remember, it is NOT Paul Mitchell if you buy it at a supermarket or the like, get it from a salon. It should work at 1-3 shampoo's!

the dryness/flakiness could be due to seborrheic dermatitis. It causes flaky, sometimes itchy, skin on the scalp, often near the hairline.
A shampoo such a Nizoral, used 3-4 times per week, can clear it up.
