If youre not a terd itsn not that bad. If you are out of shape, cant drill, dont take care of your uniform, dont care about the Corps, undisciplined, hard headed, and dumb as a rock, your life for 3 months will be hell. But if your squared away and are a good recruit and really want to be a Marine its not that bad. I had fun. I love the Corps and all of its Values and traditions. I want to go back. But this time as a drill Instructor. Im going next Friday to the Depot I graduated from. I want to se a graduation just to motivate me. Im going back in a few weeks.

I am a soldier but I can tell you that joining the marines means you will never have to do any type of basic again if you get out. Marine corps boot camp is the most difficult Initial Entry Training in the US Military. In the Army if you get out and get back in after 8 years I believe it is you must go through basic again. however as a marine if you get out you can just sign back in at any marine base and if you decide to enlist in another branch of service you just go through what is called warrior transition course

My best friends bf was in that over the summer and I think the toughest part for him was when they had to camp out for about a week or so and had a limited amount of food and water. And the vigorous hikes they had to do daily. And the lack of sleep and rest. And he also mentioned that he was glad to be back home because now he can actually sit and rest whenever he feels like it. But he did survive the whole bootcamp experience :)

I thought it was until I transferred into the Seals. After that I would dream of how good I had it during Marine boot camp.

I really do not know how hard boot camp is nowadays. My dad went to boot camp in the 60's before he was sent to nam. He showed me his book (looks like a year book) from boot camp. There is a pic of him in there. He is standing one something, holding his eye glasses and a very tough and mean looking DI behind him. They said they where going to take his picture. My dad left his glasses on till the DI said and i quote " take your glasses of mother fu&ker" He now laughs about it.

I would say that MCRD San Diego is harder because of hiking on those hills. But either way guy, there are 5 foot female Marines that have made it, why shouldn't you??

They are looking for the best. It's no picnic but the pride is overwhelming, only a Marine can experience that.

It is no piece of cake. All military books camps break you down from day one, and they start in with the mind games, to see how much you can take. From there, they attemp to harden you into a fighting force.
