Christians shouldn't be mean.
Christ never was.

Using the word "most" to describe a very wide variety of people who happen to fall within a certain group is not appropriate. But I understand what you mean ... a large portion of those who use Yahoo! Answers are probably citizens of The United States of America. And, as one myself, I feel I can say that we tend to be very narrow in our views of the world and other regions/cultures. Keep in mind though, you made a similar generalization in your statement, "The men that founded this country ...", assuming the reader was a citizen of the U.S.A. when it's possible an individual of another nationality is using this board as well. I'm certain there are at least a few from Canada, if nothing else.

Hi, I took the time to read the answers and I really didn't find them that mean...but that is not to say that Christians can't be mean....and the thing is they don't believe they are being mean they feel they are justified because they are speaking the "truth"...The truth is we are to love like Jesus loved('s) and most often that is not the case..I am a Christian..I am going through a stage in my Christianity where I believe that there is a lot of self righteous Christian C@$p coming out of the mouths of Christians....In the end God will hold us accountable...that's what I keep telling myself...so the next time you come across a mean Christian just keep in mind that God knows and in the end they will be held accountable...I am sorry for the encounters you have had with so called Christians...we are not all mean....anyway be blessed to bless....

If a Christian gives you an answer from the Bible it is not mean. He has given you the truth and you are offended by the truth. Many people were offended by Christ but he only spoke the truth. If the truth offends you then the truth is not in you and it's not the fault of the person sharing the truth with you.

much: You want to know something. I find the same thing where ever, you have people - whether they be Christians, Atheists, gnostics, agnostics, gay, straight, crooked - what ever.
How do you know for SURE that this is a Christian and not some one posing as one, just to stir up strife ? This site is full of imposters and wanna bees !

You have to realize that most of the people on R & S are not seminary grads, nor are they interested in collegial dialogue. They make their assumptions, take their jabs, collect their two points, and leave. Sometimes you can filter out a good answer or two, sometimes not.

So, the mean people have nothing to do with Christianity nor are they arrogant ones, but your accusation towards Christians is a bit mean and arrogant - or haven't you noticed?

Mathew verse 27 and 33:
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocracy and wickedness...". "You snakes! You brood vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?..."

You are most welcome.
That you think Christians have all the answers as the questions posed were to them in the first place!!!

I don't feel that I am mean...I believe in treating others as you wish to be treated...maybe you just experienced some Christians that rubbed you the wrong way.
